Resilium Labs Launches The Collective, a Senior Specialist Network
The founder-led consultancy diagnoses why incidents keep recurring and does the operational excellence work to fix it — now backed by a hand-picked network of senior practitioners across leadership, cloud and security, software and AI, and enterprise transformation.
HELSINKI, Finland — September 9, 2026 — Resilium Labs, the founder-led resilience engineering consultancy, today announced the launch of The Collective, a network of senior specialists the firm brings into client engagements when the work needs depth beyond any one person. The Collective broadens the reach of founder Adrian Hornsby’s work — from diagnosing why incidents recur through to the operational excellence changes that address them — with practitioners he has worked with directly and would put his own name next to.
Engineering organisations keep having the same incidents. They run postmortems, adopt chaos engineering, and invest in reliability, yet the same classes of failure return. Resilium Labs treats resilience not as a tool to install but as an organisational capacity: the ability to anticipate what it cannot fully predict, respond well to what it did not plan for, and come out of each incident better prepared. That capacity spans leadership, security, the software, and the data underneath — which is more than a single consultant can carry.
“Resilience runs through everything, and the hard problems are rarely confined to one discipline,” said Adrian Hornsby, founder of Resilium Labs and former Principal Engineer at Amazon Web Services. “When an engagement needs someone who has led under pressure, governed cloud at scale, or moved an enterprise off its legacy platform, I would rather bring in a senior specialist I trust than pretend one person covers it all. The Collective is small on purpose, and it stays that way.”
The founding members each bring decades of experience operating at scale:
- Sonia Ouarti — leadership and human performance, focused on decision-making under stress, burnout, and the human side of resilience, with a background across Google, AWS, IBM, and Sony Music and an MSc in Neuroscience from King’s College London.
- James Saull — cloud architecture, security, and governance, drawing on more than 30 years in IT including nearly a decade as a Principal at AWS guiding enterprises such as Barclays, Shell, and the BBC.
- Matt Fitzgerald — software, data, and AI, a technology director who led a major migration of internal systems onto AWS at Amazon and built the big-data platform that moved the company off its Oracle data warehouse.
- Thomas Blood — enterprise transformation and sustainability, who spent a decade at AWS as a Principal Strategic Advisor and co-authored Reaching Cloud Velocity, distilling lessons from more than 500 enterprise cloud journeys.
Engagements follow a simple principle: diagnosis before prescription. They begin by finding where an organisation’s capacity to learn and adapt has stalled, then move into the operational excellence work that addresses it — the practices, feedback loops, and incentives that keep the same failures coming back. The Collective is how that work scales: specialists are brought in where the evidence points, and members are never substituted without the client’s knowledge, so the person who is introduced is the person who does the work.
Resilium Labs launches The Collective alongside a set of free, no-sign-up tools on its website, including a resilience self-assessment and a cost-of-downtime calculator, and a growing library of essays on why incidents recur and what to do about it.
The Collective is available to engineering organisations now. To discuss an engagement, book a diagnostic call at resiliumlabs.com.
